Rich and Memie Kao (China)

During the last decade, China has been opening up to Western influence including the growth of its massive economy. While the economy is growing, the church in China is both the fastest growing and among the most persecuted churches in the world. China also has a crisis with its aging populating, the largest in the world, and cultural norms have left them without a way to care for that population. Both the growth in the economy and the aging population crisis have left Chinese officials with a desire for strong leaders to meet these massive needs.
Rich is partnering with other ministries to equip the church in China to meet these needs and spread the Gospel. He is working with John Maxwell to start leadership training centers and has submitted proposals to build "Dream Centers" in Beijing and Dandong. These centers will be social outreach platforms for both basic needs and more advanced services like internet cafes. They will also provide a base for ministries and discipleship. Grants from GCF can help fund needed equipment like computers for the dream centers, remodeling elementary schools throughout the rural provinces, and funding the leadership training centers throughout China.
Rich and Memie are currently leading an English speaking Chinese church in Vancouver, Canada. They are long time friends of Kendrick Vinar, and have ministered on numerous occasions at Grace Church. Rich and Memie have four children: Kimmie (15), Heidi (13), Holly (11), and Matthew (8).
